eSIM Guides
What does “unlimited” eSIM data actually mean?
Unlimited usually means a daily high-speed allowance, then slower speed. Here's how to read the fine print.

Quick answer
Most unlimited travel eSIMs give you a set amount of high-speed data (often per day), then keep you online at a reduced speed. You never get cut off, but you won't always have full speed.
The two numbers to look for
- High-speed allowance — e.g. 5 GB per day at full speed.
- Speed after that — e.g. 1 Mbps until the day resets.
What reduced speeds feel like
| Speed | Good for | Struggles with |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Mbps | Messaging, maps, email, music | HD video, big uploads |
| 512 kbps | Messaging, maps | Video, heavy browsing |
| 128 kbps | Text messages | Almost everything else |
How we show it
Every unlimited plan on eSIMforInternet shows the allowance and the speed after it. If a provider doesn't tell us a number, we say so instead of guessing.
