Quick answer
Install your eSIM a day or two before you travel, while on Wi-Fi. Most plans only start when the eSIM connects to a network at your destination, so installing early doesn't waste days — but always check the plan's activation rule.
Why install before you go
- You need internet to download the eSIM — airport Wi-Fi can be slow or missing.
- If something goes wrong, you have time to contact support.
- You land connected.
When the plan starts
Check “Activation” in the plan details. Most start on first connection at your destination. A few start as soon as they're installed.
On arrival
- Turn on the eSIM line.
- Select it for mobile data.
- Turn on Data Roaming for the eSIM.
- Wait a minute for it to connect.
Don't delete it
Most eSIMs can only be installed once. Don't remove it until your trip is over.
